Ecuador result also good for Scotland. Need to get as many third placed teams to finish on two points as possible to squeeze through as one of the best eight third placed.

I wonder whether Tinder's a bit mainstream for Rory.

Had to Google that. 'An app for open-minded individuals'! Fucking hell, that's basically zoophilia, right?

I once had an extended encounter with an older woman (I was 19) who kept asking me how open-minded I was. I kept answering 'very,' but she wasn't convinced and never told me what she was thinking of. I think she was right.

And given everything we've subsequently learned about Karen Brady, I'd say you got away with one there.

Thought we were on for a tale of the Cleveland Steamer.

Love that you played for Poly Pat, we might have played against each other in the mid 2000s. I played for CSFC from 2005-2010 every team they had apart from the firsts who were way to good (I was mostly fourths). Poly had bloody brilliant facilities compared to us and great pitches to play decent football on rather than the bumpy mudbathery that made up 99% of the games at my level. Was it Bank/HSBC who also had great pitches? Apologies for the digression everyone, as you were!

Slow reply Tom, as I went off to Cambridge to see friends yesterday afternoon. Late night and feeling my age today.

I played for the Poly from around 1998-2000. I joined the club when I moved to London from Paris but got fed up after a couple of years with the travel to various London locations for 90 minutes of football. It was a great club though and I used to go and watch mates play if I wasn’t at Villa Park. The pitches were decent, much better than the rugby pitches which were close to the marina and prone to being waterlogged.

I think the really good pitch was iHSBC near Dukes Meadow though there was another billiard table pitch by Hamger Lane that belonged to a bank as well.

You'd have been in your mid-20s then, so at your footballing peak. Isn't that right?
