Tuchel fucked it by going defensive 15 mins too early.
Went full on Southgate

Seen a lot of references to Southgate, but not sure about thst comparison as Southgate stood by and did nothing as you could clearly see the momentum in games changing.  Tuchel made changes tonight which actuslly caused the momentum of the game to change.
The comparison is that he went defensive.

There are a few Southgate apologists who think that because Tuchel has shown he isn’t right for the job, it somehow proves Southgate was.

Absolute nonsense.

And of course you have the usual idiots who just want an argument and can never, ever be wrong!  ::)

He got it massively wrong when it mattered.
Every single person in the pub near me said he had gone defensive way way too soon and it would bite us in the arse.
And it did.
Sack him🤣🤣🤣

Southgate wouldn’t have got past Mexico tbh.

He probably would've. He's the second best England manager of all time.

Without wishing to get drawn into a tedious argument, my view as a neutral is that Bobby Robson is the second best England manager of all time (assuming Sir Alf is the first). With a competent ref in Mexico '86 and some penalty shootout fortune in Italia '90, England could easily have had two World Cup final appearances/wins.

We have had a lot bad luck.
You’re right should have won at least one more WC. Or Euros.

I'm not interested either, my man. I just go by how far they both went in tournaments. Equal in World Cups. Southgate takes it due to the Euros.

The Euro 20/21 final (best English team I've seen) was complete cowardice on the sideline and pitch. That was a bottle job of epic proportions. England were a mess in last Euros all tournament but Southgate to be fair didn't bottle taking off Kane. Watkins won England that semi final after coming on.

Tuchel for me has been winging it all tournament, the chat after the Croatia media from the English media was laughable. Finally the right man in charge etc. Great win in Mexico but shocking in every other game. He sold out the midfield (Anderson) all tournament and blind loyalty to Rice and Kane cost him. The squad decisions came back to bite him big time. No faith in Mainoo and Wharton at home, how many players tried at right back and TAA left out?

I felt for konsa, attacking right back he is not. His two crosses at the death were terrible.

Defensively he was probably at fault for the winner too. Arms waving blaming Stones who seemed to get caught under it a bit alright. But Konsa has nobody else to mark, he sees the cross coming in from the other side and Martinez is the only danger.

Argentina deserved it. Thought the scoreline flattered England really. When the two main players are struggling to make any impact and your main man in the middle, Rice,- shouldn’t have even started as he was a passenger you are not giving yourself a chance. To then compound it by going defensive there after, is the outcome any surprise at all?

England’s possession statistic after taking the lead…….12%!!!
