I do have a nagging suspicion that the collar will curl upwards. The 1996 shirt does that and it's bloody annoying.

Handy for when you do your annual 'If Eric Cantona played for Villa' impression at the village fête.

A shirt based on an era when we finished 16th, 18th, and 21st in the second division and 4th in division 3. Be still my beating heart.

We only wore it for the 69-70 season. My first games were our first season in Div 3 and we were back to blue sleeves by then

Why would you buy a sponsor-less one and a sponsored one?

I can imagine people going out their way for a plain one, and some weirdos waiting for a sponsored one. But doing both is surely grounds for a good sectioning?

'Look guys. You've had your fun with the sectioning. There's going to be no more sectioning today.'

Apart from the rectangle at the front, I like it. I definitely think shirts are better with no sponsor.

My first kit was the 69-70 kit, which is why I have a liking for all claret tops.
The Luke kit was really nice and marks the turn around for the club.

My point was it wasn't even just a one off disappointing season, it was the culmination of the worst Villa sides in our history.

It didn’t even last the whole season. Villa supporters were so disgusted it only lasted a few months then we reverted to the proper shirt!

Dwight Yorke was a regular collar up, think Savo was an occasional one as well

Having a top from the olden days when dinosaurs roamed the earth and you had to leave the pub at 2pm or whatever weird shit it was like back then, is no bad thing. Try something different, then onto the next one.

I didn't like last seasons kit, as it was too similar to the previous one. This one won't get that label, it's different, it will look better in real life with a sponsor etc. I think we'll all love it eventually.
Yeah, wil be the biggest selling Villa shirt of all time when we win the Champions League next season.

On the bright side, this suggests the leak of the away and 3rd kits is correct.

I really liked them (the home one is not for me).
