With the youngest away on a residential, Mrs Rodders and I have a rare night alone, I think only the third we've ever had in Jnr's ten years on the planet.

So I'm putting on my nice jacket and shoes and preparing to drive us to the lovely restaurant she's booked as a treat.

I might - just - catch the last of second half. If we're 7-0 up by then it's because I haven't jinxed us by watching it.

I was not even alive in 1982 and have not seen Villa win anything as an adult trophy wise. I am also on WM coverage tonight and the first final we have ever been in I have not been able to watch. I really want to calm down and enjoy but will not be posting on the match thread and trying to enjoy what will happen.

Win and this is the biggest thing Villa will have won in my lifetime.
Losing isnt an option..
