No Ben-Hur on i-Player though which is a FUCKING DISGRACE.
No worries the film about the greatest mercenary of all times, El Cid, is on at 3PM.

Seems a bit bollocks that Port Vale have to play their quarter-final on Saturday evening ahead of a league game on Monday afternoon. No Premier League players would ever have to play two matches in such a short space of time but it's okay for League One players? FA Cup game should have been tonight.

Still, there's Football League, snooker and County Championship on.

No Ben-Hur on i-Player though which is a FUCKING DISGRACE.

Their league game's Tuesday night

Ah, fair enough then. Must not have been updated on Fotmob when I looked the other day.

Strange nickname to give to Fabian Delph.

It’s Easter. And there is no fucking football in sight.

Boxing Day football canned.
Easter football canned.

It’s political correctness gone mad.

I blame Jesus
We went to church on Palm Sunday (my wife’s in to religion and I can tolerate the be-nice-to-people here-have-tea-and-biscuits variety).

The vicar there was doing some kind of Jesus reenactment thing and got one half of the church shouting “hosanna!” And the other half “crucify” and “Jesus” walked down the aisle. We were on the crucify side. Anyway my little boy misheard and started shouting “goose-ify”.

At first I thought “ha, kids are thick” but then started thinking about it. If Jesus was turned in to a goose, that would explain all the chocolate eggs a lot better than a bunny shitting them out whilst zombie Jesus walked the land, which I’ve always thought was a bit far fetched.

Anyway, that’s become part of my new belief system along with god being a giant platypus that we praise every other Sunday (different boy’s accidental interpretation of a hymn)

I have an issue with the thread title because...yes there is. It's not 'ootball'.

There's no fucking jump racing either.

I mean, there probably shouldn't ever be any.

Agreed. Fuck jump racing.

I quite like it in the Olympics. Kenyans always win.

I keep meaning to look up why that race exists.

A Lincoln City win today and they’re all but promoted.

In seriousness. Easter used to be such an important time in the football schedule.
Back to back games, pressure, injuries, momentum, the table changing drastically. It was an exciting time.

I am fully aware that there is other football being played. I’m missing my Villa fix though.

To schedule the FA cup and meaningless international friendlies over the Easter period seems a bit naff to me, especially after the powers that be decreed that Boxing Day football is no longer special either.
I am probably misremembering but im sure we got 5 against both Hull and Plymouth over Easter 1988. Maybe it was the whole school holiday rather than one weekend though

Easter football or not, there's always a chance you might see a decent cross.

A Lincoln City win today and they’re all but promoted.

Nailed on.

Actually. Just checked and I'm completely out on both. At least Hull was a bank Holiday though! (New Years Day)!

My fist game of football was Graham Taylor’s promotion game in 1976.
