We do seem to have quite a habit of selling players at the peak of their value. Off the top of my head I cant think of an obvious one thats moved on since we've sold them for more.
That's a good thing, right? I mean "peak of their value" seems like good management to me.

Sounds like Amorim has put a block on Estupinan leaving to "assess" him apparently, whatever that means? It's reported that Estupinan is keen on rejoining UE, so we'll see if that gets done. Nonetheless we need a new LB urgently to replace Digne. Hopefully we'll see some signings soon to offset all the departures.
Well, yes but there's also Bailey, Barkley & Guessand - that well-known debt-collection agency - to sort out, too.

I've been playing "I don't want to go  to Chelsea" a lot in the last few days; trying to use Elvis' dulcet tones to bring down good juju on Villa...

If there is a release clause, there is nothing to stop him from going.  I suspect he's still on holiday and it will be announced when he's back.

You're making it sound as if we've brought nobody in at all. Three have come in so far.

More first team players have arrived than left, at time of writing.

Estupinan and Royal - we've agreed personal terms and contracts and rhe players seem happy to join Villa, but their clubs are holding up the deals.
Flamengo want a bigger fee for Royal and Ruben  Amorim has said he wants to "assess"  Estupinan on AC Milan's pre season trip to Australia

Palinha  - Bayern have stated that he's not part of their plans,  but Palinha has said he wants to fight for his place

Looks as if all 3 moves have run into trouble.

I expect we'll try and complete them, but if there's no progress by a "deadline" date, we'll move onto other targets.

In other words "I can't be bothered with actually having to train, learn and play so if it's ok with everyone I will sit out rest of my contract here"

Rashford has 2 years left on his contract and in those 2 years he will earn 36 million pounds
I mean 36 million pounds pounds ffs
No wonder no one can afford him

Watkins has another five years at the top level.  He’s super fit and really looks after himself.  Also at the end of last season he looked back to his very best.  No sale for me.

The problem is you don’t know when the twitch muscles and reaction speeds deteriorate, it usually happens early 30s and Watkins game does rely on these. So I don’t think you can predict another 5 years.

Agreed, that streak towards end of season might be an outlier in an overall decline. But a fired up Ollie is a fantastic PL player, he has a fair old point to prove to Tuchel this season.
