Madjo isn't even allowed on the bench. As part of the footballing authorities' ongoing commitment to fuck Villa over, he is banned from sitting or lying down until he's twenty-seven. He has to spend at least eight months a year standing on rusty nails.

Ha!

But there’s an option to sign for Chelsea and be legible to play in August.

On a free transfer, then we get a transfer ban until the end of time.

It seems that our competitors are trying to beat us by buying all our players.

I want us to keep Watkins, Konsa and Emi for at least one more window. Too much change at once is insane.

It's clearly written in the rules that that's allowed.

I can’t remember a side being broken apart with such abandon having won something.  Relegated, maybe, but this is a weird transfer window if we lose half the first team.

Haha, yes he came to mind, but I was a bit too young to properly remember that vintage. Who else wins something great and then sells most of the bloody team that did it!?

Did I miss half a dozen more players being sold?

We've sold 2 players, both of whom we've flogged to death over the last 2 years. Digne's 33 & won't cut it for much longer.

Tielemans & Rogers will be tough to replace & it will take time for their replacements to get up to speed. If Emery believes in them, who are we to doubt.

The press spent the whole of last summer talking up Martinez going to Man Utd. Then they bought someone else. This week it's Konsa & Watkins, next week it could be McGinn or Cash.

If anybody thinks they're above playing for Aston Villa they can go, I trust Emery to replace them.

Perhaps we'll find out the players we've bought are better than the ones who've gone.

Manzambi will go somewhere for £150m in a year or two. He is going to be a massive star.

Manzambi and Newcastle's new lad, have basically one season of senior football at a half-decent level behind them. And their values have exploded in 12 months. We're both hoping that's exponential but these are the type of punts the SkySix don't need to rely on.

I can see why we are doing it and it needs to be done now. I’m looking forward to seeing fresh faces. Great end of season for us but we were running out of gas in spring. Mind you it is weird that the architect of our wonderful second goal in Istanbul and the 3 players involved will have all gone. Who had that on their bingo card in May?

Watkins being linked with a £40m move to MU.

We'd be stupid beyond belief to not take that.
