I just hope, with all the sales of some of our key players, that it has all been okayed by Emery  and it's all partly balancing the books and partly Emery's plan to add a new pieces to the jigsaw.  If not, I worry that Emery will just say "fuck this shite" in Spanish and bail on us. In essence, I hope all of this is not being done over his head.

I think if that were the case he’d be gone. I suspect he’s probably very much behind this - not saying he wants the likes of Rogers gone. But it’s reasonably well reported Garnacho was someone he did want, so I think there’s little doubt he’s driving it.

I would think the players there getting are the ones Unai wants.

If Emery didn't want the players to be sold, we would not be selling them.  Give the man some credit.  From what Vinnie is saying, I am guessing, if we sign Jackson, the fee will be some thing like 25mill, plus add ons that shoot the price up very quickly but only the 25 comes out of this years profit.  Hopefully, we still have three or four incoming in that case and have a good few quid to spend.

I can’t believe after last summer and Monchi suddenly going Emery isn’t leaving any of the signings unchecked.

If we sign Jackson I can’t see anyway the fee is anywhere near that low.

I’ve no doubt Emery is all over the signings.  They aren’t going to hijack a player from Newcastle if they don’t particularly want him.

Really? Emery wanted Rogers and Tielemans to be sold?

Well they didn't want to play for us anymore, So yep I would say if the price is right then Emery would be fine with them being sold. Same goes for Konsa if he doesn't take the deal we have have offered thats also fine, As long as we get the right Money.

I’m sure Unai sees the value in reinvesting in the squad, great players though they are, he will be trying to spread the quality throughout.  He needed money to do this, the squad needed breaking up or reinventing.  We cannot have it both ways.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see the squad that starts this season being better than the squad that ended last season......

But it's rather more likely that the squad which ends this season does so better than the one which ended last season would have done (obviously we'll never know though).

If we are going to bend the rules and piss UEFA off, can we please do it for someone better than Jackson

Agree, Chelsea will likely want nearer £50m to £60m
