I think Konsa’s consistency would be very hard to replace, so would want to fight tooth and nail to keep him.

I’m lost trying to understand modern footballers motives, from Martinez wanting to go to Man Utd to Rogers ending up at Chelsea.

Konsa? If we sell him we’d need to recruit a Rolls Royce central defender, younger and probably for less money. A player used to playing at the top end of a top division and an established international. Good luck with that. We’d be absolutely insane to sell him this window.

Utd and Chelsea have the capacity to pay a basic salary before Champions League football far exceeding what we can when we have qualified. Plus the 2 clubs mentioned are a bigger draw than us, that's a fact no matter how great we think Villa are.

Konsa has given us what, 7 years? He's 28, lives in London and would get a massive wage increase and join the champions, and champions League finalists. From his perspective, I have zero issue with him wanting the move. However.... Pay the bloody money.
