^^ Kamara looks fit & healthy in pre-season training, and seems to be doing what the others are doing, although I don’t suppose we’ve a way of knowing what approach they’ll take to him playing games.

Keep Konsa and then signing Estupinan, Royal, Palhinha, Mbaye and Jackson on loan would do me.

Need to shift Bailey, Guessand, Bogarde

I'd say we'd still need another attacker, preferably wide and on loan on top of the above. And invest in a young centre back too - and goalkeeper if there's an option

I wonder if they might try and move Abraham on later in the window too if Madjo gets registered.

Would leave us with

Martinez, Bizot
Cash, Royal, Estupinan, Maatsen
Konsa, Pau, Lindelof, Mings
Kamara, Gomes, Palhinha, Barkley
Mbaye, McGinn, Manzambi, Buendia, Alysson
Watkins, Jackson, Abraham (Madjo)

We back in for Ferran Torres yet?  After all,  Unai loves him and he now has some cash to splash. Wouldn’t be a transfer window without a link to him.

Out of contract in 12 months too.

My 14 year-old son (my go-to foreign football correspondent) doesn’t rate him at all. But if Unai loves him, I’m willing to go with his opinion.

Yep me to, I was slagging him all last night saying he’d been shocking every time I’d seen him in front of goal
Then he goes and scores the winning goal in the World Cup final

Can only see us signing Jackson if Watkins is off.

I think Cisse fits the role of the young CB you're looking for.  With us getting Gomez and Kamara coming back, I don't know if Palhinha makes sense unless it's a loan.  We need more playmakers similar to what Tielemans did for us.

Agree on the Pahlinha bit. Gomes kind of covers Kamara ok. Wouldn't be surprised to see us linked with Curtis Jones. His underlying stats for progressive forward balls are pretty decent and he's out of contract next summer. Not my first choice but wouldn't be shocked if we looked at it.

I reckon we’d look to offload Abraham before Ollie if Jackson came in.

Is Jones any good though or just another Tom Cleverley type that was carried in a league winning team? Sometimes you watch Jones and he's just lightweight and ineffective.

Aren't we now at a point where we include T Rowe as RB cover and Burrowes as RW cover; along with Cisse at CB and Hemmings in MF?
Aren't they all now good enough to be considered 'playable' if required?
If not, we should be selling them, I imagine.

If we sell Watkins for Jackson I'm done with this institution.

Signing Jackson ruins everything we've just achieved with Rogers going

'That is according to Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider' - former chief executive.

Nothing new here, just some chap's opinion who used to work at Villa.
Maybe I could get a thing with football insider?  I was a kitchen porter in the summer we won the Intertoto Cup, and worked in the club shop for 4 weeks around Christmas the season after.  I'd say I was an ideal candidate for insightful comments about the Villa.

Jones would be an expensive mistake and Palhinha only makes sense as a loan. If it's a permanent signing think I'd rather we find someone similar to Manzambi who is 20-23 but might need time to settle in. We have Gomes, Kamara and Barkley all ready to play now and Bogarde (who we'd be silly to let go unless someone offers something insane like £25m) as fairly experienced cover so we can afford the last midfielder to be one with an eye to taking over from Barkley next year when his contract runs out.

I'd like to see someone similar to Onana in most ways but a bit more willing to take risks with forward passes. Based on that, and purely going by stats, I'd see what Rennes want for Djaoui Cisse -
- Clearly he'd need much more scouting than I've done with this but on paper and from those highlights he looks a great fit, and would be about £15m and on fairly low wages.
