Ite early days.

Gomes
Estupian
Royal
Palhinha
Summerville

they'd fill some of your blanks quite nicely.

Does it? Pretty uninspiring tbh.
Manzambi is the one to get excited about.
Im pretty  excited aboit Gomes

In January we need to buy a CB on a buy now, pick up in six month’s time deal.

Mings looked pretty cooked last season but we’ve had enough change already so probably need him next season.

Mings

Maatsen
BLANK Estupina

Kamara
Onana* paulinha
BLANK Gomes
BLANK Bogarde

Mcginn
BLANK Mbaye

Manzambi
Barkley

Buendia
Alysson (BLANK?)

Watkins
Abraham

Rowe
Cisse
Bogarde
Hemmings
Burrowes
Jimoh-Aloba
Madjo

Gauci
Nedjelkovic
Illing-Junior
Guessand
Bailey - if sold frees up some wages

I'd be pretty happy with that apart from Bogarde as one of the 8s. That can't happen.

Bogarde (and Konsa) can also cover RB so maybe Ned is less of a risk. Id prefer buendia to be a utility attacking players rather than first pick, however he’d be great insurance for another Manzambi style transfer.

I don't see why we should let Barkley go to Cov or anyone. He's shown that given a run in the team, he's more than capable at being a key player for us.

We'd get buttons for him and it wouldn't make any significant difference to the finances unless he's on huge wages which I doubt. We need some continuity with experienced pros.

I'd let him go if we can get someone of similar standard who is younger.

We need to move Barkley on to another team and there are still a few others who we can move on who won’t be missed

According to Tanswell there is a new contract on the table for him, so I guess it's up to him as we likely don't expect much from Coventry.

As he was for Luton I think Barkley would be an asset for a side like Coventry. Experience and leadership, and still a very good player. 32 now and will be 33 in December. If he stays great. But if he moves on I’d understand. Same goes for Ty. I look at him with greater affection, but in terms of career I’d get it if he can squeeze a few more games out it. I’d just want Ty back as a Ville ambassador much like Elmo and Ian Taylor have become. But I’m guessing he might have other interests to pursue.

Is Mbaye actually any good? I know PSG are stacked in attacking positions but it seemed to be Mayulu who was coming on more than the chap interesting us.

Yeah, I think Barclay will stay. It takes time for new signings to bed into Unai's system. Having someone who knows exactly what to do in the 8/10 role is going to be really important he just needs to stay fit

I’m with Eamonn, I’d definitely keep Barkley, assuming wages are sensible.  He’s an excellent player to bring on to help us see out games and, with Teilemans gone, one of the better passers in the squad.

Everton are favourites to sign 24-year-old English winger Jaden Philogene from Ipswich. (Football Insider)

Surely we need to be selling him to Everton not Ipswich.

Get him recalled, get him sold. With a recall clause for next summer.
