We have already spent the money from two sales so don't expect any big signing. We'll get £95M net for Rogers after Boro share  and we have spent £98M on Manzambi, Gomes and Estupinan. Tielemans money will be used in addressing SCR etc.

…because sales are spread over three years and signings are spread over five years I hope that there’s a bit more headroom for first team signings.  Guessand/Bailey/Barkley maybe Bogarde sales funding Olabe’s speculative shopping.

The Dobbin and Malen money? Plus anyone else we offload. Cupboard ain’t bare yet.
Digne as well, plus paying lower wages.
We’re getting a winger and left back in at least, with the loan to cover Onana paid for by Fifa

Dobbin, Baron, Malen, Digne, Tielemans, Rogers bring in way more than we've spent so far as well massively reducing the wage bill.

New: Hull City in talks to sign Leon Bailey from #AVFC. Villa prefer a permanent move, which is being considered. Trabzonspor & Celta Vigo have also registered interest, but staying in England thought to be preferable.

Linked to Leao in Italian press this am. Interesting restoration ish project for Unai if anything in it.

It's a no from me. Lovely lad, full of energy, pace to burn but he's not the most technically gifted player out there. I keep thinking he's young, time to improve but he's 27, he's done well at Milan but they've been a bit of a basket case. Plus no doubt Milan will want to cash in and apart from Gala in Turkey offering him stupid wages, there's hardly a queue.

There's got to be better and cheaper out there.

EDIT: Milan want €60m. They're dreaming.

I'm not too concerned about losing Rogers provided we can add Gomes to our signings and hopefully Palhinho to put some more steel in midfield. My main worry would be losing Watkins because I cannot think of an attainable target to replace what he brings to the team (plus I really want him to get 100 league goals for us ).Jack is history and should remain so. Rashford's wages almost certainly rule him out. It may just be that there's more to this football management lark  than meets the eye.

I think palhinha was ‘fake news’ according to Sky Germany.

Jackson and Marmoush look ideal replacements for Watkins but not this season.  Another year in the stiffs at Chelsea/city could bring their prices right down.

I hope we haven't had our pants pulled down with agent fees, something Monchi paid out big time.

Done a bit of business with Hull the last couple of years but you can't imagine him turning up there, can we!?

Anyone who thinks we can spend vast amounts of money off the back of the Rogers sale might be in for a shock.

Manzambi is the replacement they've chosen. They will now sign a winger for 40-45m a replacement left back for Digne, and possibly add a loan midfielder to cover Onana and add cover at right back.

They'll also sell Watkins and Konsa if they get a suitable offer.

We're where we are because of some of the wages we've handed out in the last two years.

Unai will make us competitive but he may have to try and reintegrate Guessand or add a youth player to the squad.

I doubt spending the money is a problem given you can amortise it.  It’s more about getting the wage bill down, so I suspect the likes of Rashford, Jack or any other older player is not on our radar unless loans can be arranged where the parent club cough up some of the wages

I really like Bailey and I’ll always cherish that period where he was outstanding and maybe one of the best wingers across Europe. However he needs a fresh start and reignite his career. I hate seeing him disappearing into himself for us and fans getting on his back. As well as that really amazing spell he seems a really nice lad. Also, his accent is just so cool.

I hope this happens or someone else can take him off our hands and his career kick starts again.

Bailey only had a year left, so surely a season-long move is effectively permanent, is it not?

Yeah, but if we can squeeze a few million out in a fee this summer it all adds to the pot.
