35 million dont seem alot for Youri

It doesn't with some figures thrown around at the moment, but £35mil clause for a freebie would be profitable no matter what and would have been his expected price if we would have paid for him a couple of years ago.
I guess we werent really the powerhouse we are now then - so it probably made sense at the time and was part of convincing him.  Losing another fucking player to a Manchester club is gailing

Has been reported this summer that changes at left-back were likely to happen, and that both Digne and Maatsen could go. The reporting was that wages-wise we were spending too much on that one position.

So not a surprise Digne is the one that gets interest.

Worryingly, though, this could leave us without a World Cup winner in the squad this season.  :-\

No chance Ollie, Konsa and Morgan all leave.

Youri is a blow, I'm fine with Digne leaving and us getting a decent fee. Him and Mings were the 2 I thought we'd replace this window so I was already prepared for it.

All three actually. Two to Arsenal, one to Turkey.

It was always going to be an key summer, a few players who have been here a while in high wages could go. But I will keep my powder dry until the window closes, a few coming in with the Swiss lad for starters.

£35 release clause is bloody low.

I was hoping Maatsen would be the one to go tbh as the fee should have been a bit more.
If Digne is < £10m, it's another one where it feels like we'd have been so much better off just keeping him for now.

So...  For the less worldly - is Manzambi likely a Youri replacement then.  I assumed he was a forward (cos he done 3 goals at the world cup).  But on Wikipedia he says he is a midfielder

With these 'sales' pending, it hopefully takes the pressure off us to accept a lowball offer for Rogers.

With Onana out injured, Tielemans looking as if he's heading up the M6, we really need to hang onto Rogers. If we lose him, then it'd need to be for a mind-blowing amount - £150m+??

Wages off the books
Money in the kitty
Reduces the age profile

All things that we all said we had to do this summer.

But I doubt if many of us expected this turn of events.

Finding another left back should be easier than replacing Tielemans.
