I think we thought Abraham was going to get more minutes. He didn't really have much of a chance to settle and get going, which is predominantly down to Watkins suddenly hitting a purple patch.

I am quietly confident Abraham is going to be a good asset for us this season.

Unai has said he needs time to be integrated

Was he also carrying an injury?  The injury - when he scored - seemed so innocuous I wonder whether he had a pre-existing knock.

I still don’t really understand the Tammy signing other than the fact he’s willing to be back-up. He just doesn’t do what Unai wants his forwards to do,

Yep, it's very weird. If he hadn't done well for us in the Championship I think there'd be a lot more scrutiny on that decision.

He still won us 3 crucial points. The Leeds game ends in defeat or the Sunderland game is a 3-3 collapse from 3-1 up could have sent us spiralling.

Abraham got a goal every 141 minutes in the Premier League, a goal in 65 minutes in the FA Cup, and an assist in his 95 minutes in the Europa League.

Not too shabby and certainly gives hope for next season.

Joao Palhinha anyone?

Fine with it, as long as he doesn't train with the first team.

I still scratch my head at how remarkably shite Guessand was.

I kind of get how the Elliot shambles came about, but I don't understand how all that recruitment analysis and data came up with a competition winner like Evann.

He was given a decent amount of gametime to get up to speed, but just didn't get out of the blocks.

I assume he is a write-off, but is there any chance he's rehabilitated back into the squad this summer?  Or is he really as shite as he looks?

He just didn't look comfortable playing for us at all. It happens.

Still an effective PL player but the kind of signing we should be avoiding if wages/age profile is something we need to address.

Yeah, he just never looked like he had the confidence to do anything.

You never know though, he got played a lot, so Emery must have some sense that there's something there he can work with. If he's still here at the start of the season and gets game time, maybe we will see a bit more.

He's the only player I can think of though where it felt like the rest of the team had no confidence in him either, I really don't see him coming back.

If Guessand has been one of 3/4 30m signings last summer he would have some slack given to him - as he was the only real price tag signing the focus was laser focussed on him.  There’s clearly a very good player in there but is it as a wide player?, what we saw suggests not so absolutely questions why we went for him when wide was required.
