Quite envious of Newcastle getting Manzambi. Signing a young midfielder from Ajax too, so getting their age profile down. They've done really well too get the money in they have for Tonali and Gordon.

Have they signed Manzambi or just linked? They have just spent £42m on Toure from Hoffenheim who plays the in a similar wide right position.

Anyway he has just picked up a knee injury so Manzambi should be Villa bound now.

Athletic reporting they are close to agreeing a fee. Which one has a knee injury?

With Lindelof showing he can cover there as an understudy to Bouba, I wouldn't be in a rush to spend a chunk of our restricted budget on a direct Onana replacement. Perhaps if Bogarde leaves.

Can't see them selling Bogey now. He might not be brilliant at anything, but is valuable because he's decent at many things. Given the financial constraints, that's the type of player Villa have to settle for as a backup

And he's a freebie in the UEFA squad (in terms of places), he is on low wages to add to the squad and any fee we get does very little for us on the squad value limits from the agreement.
The only good reason I could see to sell him is if we're getting a fee that we don't think we'll get again next year, which feels a little too pessimistic for me

What’s Dougie up to? He’s better suited to the Onana understudy role than the Bouba one, although he didn’t really impress anywhere since he left us the first time round.

Manzambi. Apparently out of the match today although only seeing it on some places and not any of the big news sites yet.

I think I'd rather we didn't. Gut feeling says we may try later in the window at a lower fee than the option we previously agreed, providing there's no other interest.

Agreed. It’d be the equivalent of a ‘you up?’ text to an ex when other options haven’t worked out. Better than nothing.

I’m sure we’ll be linked to Dani Ceballos now but as he’s coming off a Real Madrid salary, probably not realistic

We must have had an Arthur playing for us at some point in the past.

He got a big contract at Spurs and has been phoning it in ever since. Avoid.
