The only silver lining I can see is that Barkley, Luiz and Bailey all come in to replace the injured players purely in terms of numbers. All experienced, all have racked up a number of appearances so we're not relying on kids.

But quality wise, the three we've lost are huge misses.

Small silver lining, at least these injuries have all happened in January.

If we can get Luiz in and somehow Onana and Barkley can stay fit, we might have enough to survive until McGinn and Tielemans are back. How the fuck both Onana and Barkley are supposed to stay fit for two months I don't know, but they have the quality.

Yet another tackle that went unpunished has put one of our players out of action for a lengthy spell. Joe Linton should have already been on a yellow and then two fouls in about 10 seconds. He should have been sent off.

Thank christ there's an international break in there somewhere, as well as a break in the European fixtures after Thursday. That's a week off for a few of the lads at least.

Our midfield has been taken out by dirty unpunished tackles. Arsenal did their best to finish Onana. Need him to stay fit, but if teams keep getting away with it, they will keep doing it.

At least February isn't the toughest month on paper. Could do with some of them back for Yanited away in mid-March though.

McGinn possibly, Onana and Barkley might be fit again after their latest injuries next week.

It's always fucking groups of injuries in the same area of the pitch isn't it?

Makes sense. Cold players having to cover the work rate, it just compounds from there. Though in this instance it's wank teams not being able to deal with transitions and just making cynical tackles. We are so, so lucky Watkins has ankles of steel.

Just looking at Barkleys injury record, it's not actually as bad as some make it out to be. He's not really been out for more then once a season since 2020 and the lions share of his time out with us was for personal reasons.

Even smaller silver lining, Kamara's wages won't count towards Uefa SCR (I think). Are we able to replace any more than Malen and Kamara in the European squad? It was either/or with Mings and Barkley and their injuries from what I remember, so they'd presumably take up the 3rd replacement if/when Doug and Tammy are confirmed.

Edit: forgot about Bailey, so as I understand it someone has to miss out.

What’s actually wrong with Tielemans?
