Roma were hardly going to wait and risk him being injured.

Well tell them bollocks and keep him, then.

Moronic decision from the club. Trying to win the league and our back up striker is a lad from the youth team.

So you're saying Unai is a moron? Or the owners?

If you put Onaka, Barkley, Kamara, Sancho and Alysson on that bench it starts to look a lot stronger. The bench has looked good this season, we're just carrying a lot of knocks and now obviously one attacker light.

It’s not a great decision when you look at the squad today. Hopefully it won’t matter, but good decision makers make poor decisions. Our bench isn’t strong enough.

I'm saying it was a moronic decision, because it obviously was.

So whoever made it is a moron, which would most likely be Unai.

Alex Ferguson sold Paul McGrath. Clever people do stupid things, sometimes. Your inability to countenance any criticism of the club when they do something which is obviously stupid is just weird.

We are operating under sanction in the transfer market, I thought this was well known. We did a deal with Uefa on our squad cost ratio so we presumably needed Malen's high wage off the books if we had any desire to bring in better suited player.

There is no rule saying you have to sell him halfway through the transfer window.

Not as weird as always resorting to insults.

According to some we were stupid getting rid of Ings, Archer, Luiz and so on. And yet the reason we're in a title challenge is because of the people that make those decisions.

But we don't know that it is a stupid decision yet. Right now, at most, it's a risky call, win today and pick up a replacement in the next few days and letting Malen go is fine.

There was no insult. We had plenty of time to get replacements for those players so not worthwhile comparison. We have actively chosen to handicap ourselves for today's match.
