Very poor round from Rory, will be struggling to make the cut, Daniel Brown top Brit one off the lead along with Shane.

Given a choice, I'd rather Rory won the The Open or The US Open. C'mon Shane!

Good to see DeChambeau missing the cut, not so good to see MacIntyre and Fleetwood also doing that.

Rory in with a shout tied in 7th. Still a big ask though.

The news regarding the English is Wolverhampton born Aaron Rai is in joint 2nd place with 4 others, which include Rahm and Aaberg. The bookies have got Rai at 16/1 to win it, which is about right, but at least he's given himself a chance.

Looks like the lad from Wolverhampton might just do it.

He did do it! And in some style, well done Aaron Rai.

Coached in his youth by our local professional at Kingswinford Golf Centre.

Yeah absolutely brilliant Aaron Rai, the first Englishman to win the PGA since 1919!

Nice comment on BBC sports page-

".... the course 'set up' will be questioned as it favoured brains over brawn, and that seems to have worked in the Europeans' favour."

Haven't paid much heed to him previously, but that's a life-changing win. Well deserved too!

Great effort from Charley Hull, but her long wait for her first major goes on, as Nelly Korda beats her by one shot to win the US Women's .Open
