My only concern with him is when he said “This is a great opportunity for me because it’s going to make me grow”.

Welcome, Mad Joe Brian.

Surprised to hear of anyone under 40 named Brian

Apparently there were 71 new Brian's in the Uk in 2024, which is more than I expected and more than there were new Paul's (65) and Lee's (22).

I'm genuinely stunned that any kids born this year share my name, it feels like it was exclusively the preserve of 1974-1978.

It's my old man's name. I'm in the age group above and clearly recall a somewhat younger kid at primary school being laughed at for being called Brian.

I know a young-ish Brian. I got him taken on permanently at our work. I think I got three hundred quid for it after he stayed 6 months and he’s still there. He’s from Zimbabwe, lovely fella.

I meant Lee, as I thought you might have guessed by my username, but as it happens Brian is also my old man's name too.

Feels strange to see the club doing a video, and welcome to Villa video, for someone who I assume could still play inthe FA Youth Cup!

Does this mean Unai is expecting him to integrate straight into the first team squad, or is he going to disappear for the rest of the season while he acclimatises and we'll see him again in pre-season?

It's not beyond the realms of possibility Unai has plans to give him first team minutes this season, I suppose - but it feels a strange one if he is!

It did briefly occur to me but I had missed the reference to 22 Lees. Was wondering if you were Brian Lee!

He's going to be a superstar, they'll make a film about him and call it The Life of Brian.

Thanks, but I think that horse has bolted, I'm nearly 50.
