How did people find the ground who were there today?
Came across as much less intense atmosphere than Goodison when they were attacking near the end. Tried to model the ground on Spurs but looking at it today from the various angles it reminds me of more of a bigger Brighton ground.
At least a better view now looking across the pitch compared to the lower Bullens where seeing half of the pitch down the Gwladys side was near impossible!

Great pre-/post-game location, I quite enjoyed the whole journey there and back. It's a fine looking stadium too, inside and out, with great match views as well as sea panorama from the posh seats!
Only once did the atmosphere crank up, around a song I couldn't identify, about 15 minutes into the second half. But it didn't last long.
Will be interesting to see how that develops, once they've had a few derbies, I think. That will be a good litmus test.
Hugely gentrified compared to Goodison based on my admittedly small sample (i.e., the dozen or so people sitting around me). Never dreamt there were that many Blue Londoners.
Villa fans in fine voice, from where I was sitting opposite y'all.

I was massively disappointed to be honest. Impressive enough from the outside, but just another concrete coloured soulless bowl on the inside, both in looks and atmosphere.
And to design a ground with such shite access to/from the turnstiles (*especially considering the history of that city) is ridiculous. The whole one side of the stadium being funnelled shoulder to shoulder with us away fans in a pathway about 6-8 people wide, and again to exit through tiny gateways onto the main road.
Places like this make you appreciate Villa Park more than you realise. I hope to God we never sell our soul and move to a site like this.

Yeah, the bottlenecks getting out of the old dock walls were weird - like nobody thought about it...

Looks great from the outside, it had shelter on 3 exterior sides and the views from the seats are good, but I was a bit nonplussed by the concourses, the facilities and the concrete. It didn't shout modernity, but I guess the home sections may be better.
It felt a bit like a big St Mary's inside.
