Gone to Ipswich on loan, with an option to buy.

You can't lead with your cleavage like that, you absolute spreadsheet tease. I've got a team of quite intimidating obese teenagers here and I need sell-ons, buy-backs, obligations, Austin Montegos. Give me some percentages man or it's going to kick right fucking off.

I once maxed my Dads Austin Montego on the A38 Lichfield Bypass if that helps.

Carry on, as you were.

Ah I used to absolutely twat the Sutton by pass bit of the A38 when I werra a young lad behind the wheel. Got up to 96 in me mam's J (original J, 1970) Escort. Can't do it anymore because of the bloody stupid M6 toll roundabouts  (which also sliced lovely Fox Hill Road in half) [get back on topic - Ed.]

I think the Villa players had them as club cars in the first Graham Taylor era. I saw Tony Daley in one (I think).

Dalian Atkinson drives Montego...

In all seriousness, as he signed after the window closed, I presume he wouldn't be eligible for the first team until the January window opens?

Welcome Fletcher, hopefully one day, you and Rory Wilson, will turn out to be the best two strikers in the country!

Is it not the case that we did all the paperwork before the deadline but were waiting for FIFA approval? In which case he should be fine, I think?

If that country is Scotland, it's a low bar.

I had a Montego many years ago, couldn't keep door handles on it and amongst other things it had odd sized wheels that you couldn't buy wheel trims to fit. I went to the scrap yard and got four Metro wheels and they fit like a dream.

One of the early episodes of Pimp My Ride.

I think so, he wouldn't be eligible for us at any level if that wasn't the case.

We had the partnership with the local Rover dealership which meant they could drive a Metro, Maestro and Montegro slowly around the side of the pitch at half time.

I saw Tony Daley park up and get out of a Red MG Montego on Newhall Street one Sunday evening back in 90/91 when I was out with the lads.
I also saw Andy Comyn getting into a Montego in the players car park but he obviously wasn’t deemed worthy of the MG one, just your bog standard Austin.

Sightings of Villa players in Montegos is honestly my favourite thread-getting-sidetracked  topic. And that is a high bar. Arguably higher than being one of the two best strikers in the Scottish national team.

So we've bought this lad and immediately turfed him out to a club who can sign him next summer and give us £5m or whatever we've agreed? Is this the most blatant example yet of our now widespread youth policy of buying low and selling high?

As up to now, there's always been a shred of hope that any lad we send out on loan could make it with us if he does well elsewhere. Now, we're just ruling that out completely?

I think eamonn is taking some of the joking posts above seriously.
