I think he is getting better the more he plays, if he continues to improve I would be looking at signing him on a free, and if he has a poor 12 months after then sell him for a profit.

He’s 25, a very good age to continue to develop and improve. He seems to have a good attitude too. He might not be a first choice option if we can find a really good option on the right but good to have in rotation.

As has been pointed out before, you'd give him a signing bonus in lieu of salary, then stick him into the Villa pay structure.If you wanted him, that is - which johne doesn't - and fair enough, it's all about opinions, innit?Personally, strikes me that he's growing into his role fairly nicely, though not as fast as we might like and as yet, without sufficient end product.
Yeah, doesn't sound unreasonable.But the current direction of travel is the right one.
