Wouldn't at all mind seeing him as a midfield option, he is our find of the season.

I've been thinking this. Rotate him with Onana and Luiz, as needs must. Bogarde is up and coming but not there yet.

Realistically, until we have some of our injured midfielders back we will have to scrap for victories instead of playing pretty football.

When interviewed after Brighton, Bailey said 'the boss kept on telling us to keep a clean sheet'. Lindelof can play a crucial part in achieving that, just ahead of the back four.

Best strap ourselves in for the rollercoaster ahead.

What has this guy done wrong lately? He seems to be frozen out for whatever reason. I think he's been our best signing on a free transfer. He offers a calm with his experience and is no slouch. I hope Emery selects him against Lille, even as a DM which we haven't got at present. Thoughts?

I've been an advocate for at least trying it as I don't think Luiz and Onana work as a two. I'd rather have someone in there doing the dirty work to release the other a bit, so why not him? Seems unlikely, though.

Agree, especially as Onana & Luiz aren't defensive midfielders. They get called out unfairly in my  opinion. Oh, how we miss Boubacar Kamara as the DM!

Almost like it's deliberate. Why the fuck does Ming's get in ahead of him?

We need leaders with our current predicament - Lindelof is Sweden's captain! He's held that responsibility since 2021! Bags of experience.

Lindelof was signed for a particular purpose to cover our first choice defenders so saying "frozen out"  is completely wrong and there is no need for words like "what has he done wrong lately" etc. He is not bing victimised...honestly. He lacks pace to play as a midfielder but could do if absolutely necessary. He is being used properly as per intent. And he has been our best free tranfer...this season however not our best free signing.

Yeah, I'd say rather than frozen out, he's unfortunate in where he sits in the pecking order. Not sure it's justified, considering some of the performances of all other three centre halves lately. Would like to see him in. Not had a bad game, defends really well and decent with the ball at his feet.

I meant this season as a free transfer - a great piece of business. The Guessand and Elliott deals have been awful. Allowing Malen to leave is a poor decision as well. Who overlooked the rules regarding the Madjo transfer? The poor guy is in limbo....

He's shown he is a class act, and has bags of experience. To have given him more or less no minutes while we've been struggling so badly is utterly ridiculous.

Think he will start v Lille. Been unfortunate not to have got a sniff lately considering our struggles at centre back.
