Welcome to GUESS THE CROWD for the 2025 / 26 season!



Hello again, all, it’s time once again to get your teams up and running / jogging / walking / staggering in those colourful mesh bibs, heart monitoring vests and cool new pink training gear and to marvel at the range of dayglo boots your sponsor has provided.

Your teams are back from their summer tours of the USA, Riviera, Spain, Walsall, Glastonbury, various party islands and a rare old time with friends/family/fans.

You may need to break out the beeps and cones to knock them back into shape and remind them of where they play and er, what they do.

 While your squad is getting fit, why not review the rules for playing Guess The Crowd?



If you haven’t played GUESS THE CROWD 🥧 before, read on:


The idea is to guess the official attendance figure at VILLA PARK for the match named in the Round.

All GTC Rounds are for the HOME games in the Premier League, Europa League and the Cups.

I will post the total attendance figure at the end of the Guess thread as soon as it is available, usually from the BBC.

I award points according to how close you are to the total.  (If you see the total before I do, feel free to post it!)

GUESS THE CROWD 🥧 may be played for a WSL VILLA Home game, depending on the press of fixtures.



The Usual Rules apply in all Rounds. These are:



1. You may post One Guess Only in a Round.

Accidentally posting a second guess will not get you more points as only your first guess is counted.

2. No editing of your post, please.

Editing means you get only 1 point that round.

3. You must post your guess before Kick Off.

What could you get?


11 Points for a Brucie Bonus!

This is awarded for a spot- on dead accurate guess, usually early on in the week - check the BB interval in my launch post of the round to win this.  If it’s wild, it lasts all week!

10 For a spot- on accurate guess posted after the BB interval.

9 For a guess up to 10 away from the official attendance total.

And then...

8.  For a guess up to 50 away
7.  For a guess up to 100 away
6.  For a guess up to 200 away
5.  For a guess up to 300 away
4.  For a guess up to 400 away
3.  For a guess up to 500 away
2.  For a guess up to 1000 away
1.  For entering that round! 

And!!!

You could also win the Emery’s Extras Bonus!! 👍😃

Whatever the Villa goal tally in the match is, the teams getting that number of points in that round get DOUBLE POINTS!

Villa Park’s capacity is currently 43,205 according to the Premier League and FA Handbook 2025/26.

This could change, look in here for any updates!


If a team has not posted a guess in 7 consecutive Premier League GTC rounds the team will be moved with their points to The Treatment Room.  Guessing again will revive the team with their points to Division 3/4.

Once there's a space in any Division, the top ranking team in the Division below is promoted immediately to fill it.

You can join in on any Round in the season.  Keep your team active and you’ll get promoted as soon as possible!

In a daring and ruthless move, Legion has overtaken ldavfc4eva and simboy and is running away from the rest of Division 1! 😎🎉👏🍷

It’s unusual, but there could be an early promotion to D1 if there’s no action from one team before or during the 7th PL match this season. (By my calculations, that will be GTC R10 Villa v Wolves at the end of November.). It’s time to get going, and that applies to teams in D2 as well!

GUESS THE CROWD Round 7 will launch after the Liverpool game next weekend, for the Europa Cup match v Maccabi Tel Aviv, about which I’ve hardly heard a thing.
