Also the weightings are skewed based on FIFA's own rankings. I don't really mind though. We get the Euros once every four years anyway.

Disgraceful that Scotland aren't guaranteed a place after our Kirrin Cup glory in 2006, tbh.

Sir Chris Hoy was a great cyclist, but he's retired now.

I'd find it pretty boring and unfair if half the sides at the WC were from Europe. I'd prefer England to miss out than have that scenario.

There is already more than one European team per group. That's plenty.

Even if Europe had forty places, there would still be some on here moaning that Italy deserved to qualify despite losing in the playoffs to Liechtenstein after narrowly scraping past the Isle of Man in the semi-finals.

I know it’s not popular on here but I love Italy in a World Cup.  I love a lot of the country.  And they’re a traditional team unlike some of the shit countries getting through these days.
Agreed, and especially as I'll be at Lake Como whilst the tounament is on; was looking forward to watching their games with the Italians. Never mind, posso guardare l'inghilterra, per favore?

DR Congo and Jamaica 0-0, extra time just about to start - Bailey been ok but game lacks attacking quality so far

My heart is in Genoa... we're gonna lose an entire generation of bambini italiani to... porn and worse - rugby, cos its been too difficult for the national team to qualify for the WC for 12 years and counting.

They'd hammer Curaçao if we just gave them another shot, I know they would!

And now the ref's gone off injured.

DRC win. Sad Leon hasn't made it but pleased for the Congolese. Nice for people there to have something to celebrate as whenever you see their country on the news it's always something horrific going on. Hope Iraq qualify later, for the same reason.

Fun fact : In roughly 25 years' time the DRC is expected to have a larger population under 65 than the whole of Europe. There'll be no excuse for them not qualifying automatically by then.
