No, unfortunately we are going to be able to play at this level for as long as those two will. Mainly because when we rotate the drop off in quality will be steeper than Arsenal or Man City will experience. We will need a couple of impact players in January but expecting the likes of Rashford and Asensio to roll up isn’t realistic either. I reckon we will be good enough to stay in the top 4 or 5 all season but a gap likely emerges from the top 2 to everyone else by mid January.

Our great run has put us in the position where we’ll still be top three whatever happens in these two ridiculously tough festive fixtures. Win or lose, we need to start strong again in the new year with hopefully an easier run of fixtures and a bit more strength in depth.
