I'm watching snooker and it was a clear red card for whichever Arsenal player it was.

For me the one on Lookman was worse but wasn't given because he tried to play on. For the good of the game I'd like the refs instincts on them to be reversed. Encourage players to stay on their feet to get both a chance and the insurance of a penalty and raise the threshold for pens when the player goes down.

...but I really think we should read what the actual point being made is before responding to it.

Fair enough - which "level playing field" are you wondering about, and if you think it's a concern, who is "unlevelling" it, and for what purpose?

Who is the ref "sucking up" to, and why?

I don't mean to be a dick about it, but there are enough gullible people around already who want to lean into conspiracy bullshit without the cleverest doing so too.

I don't think there's a conspiracy - I don't think there needs to be. I think the testimonies of referees like Clattenburg, their obvious need to be loved by the famous and powerful (for which in turn I must reach for Freudian explanations), explain decades of decisions.

Edit: I don't necessarily think it's the biggest problem in the world, nor probably in football's top ten biggest problems. But, likewise, it does strike me as rather obvious!

I think it’s a pen to be honest. I think he catches him, and I’d be annoyed if that was overturned and it was us. But obviously not that fussed here.

Right call but now the yellow he gave for the complaints should be withdrawn.

Isn’t it dissent still ?

Sort of but it was created by a mistake by the ref so, it's a tough call for me, especially when bookings like that are so inconsistent.

I think there's contact, but it's minimal and he throws himself over with a little too much force.

There was a tiny amount of contact but Eze made sure of it and massively exaggerated it, you see them given but I wish you didn't. We've had much clearer ones overturned / not given in the last few years.

Commentators - “if that was in the other box it wouldn’t be overturned”. Yet every week in the PL they ignore shit like that in favour of Sky 6 clubs without mentioning the blatant bias at play.

I think it’s hard to tell when someone’s moving at pace. But like I say I’m not fussed, I would be if it had been us and it was overturned.

i understand that about consistency, but if you are looking at more respect to referees it should stand as the reaction is unacceptable
