Any discount codes before I book a flight to Bologna? (Wink)
Not this time. Sorry. Booked with BA from Heathrow out Sunday back Friday. Looks a decent place for a visit and Florence or Rimini an easy trip on the train for a day.
One of the few reasonable size Italian cities I have not been to. Booked KLM from Brum, decent flight times both ways. This time I am allowing myself two nights so an extra day to look around and oh yes Italian food, my favourite in the world. Prepared to take any advice from those of you who know the city.

If you like Italian food you'll want to live in Bologna, 'la Grassa'.

It's quite hard to find bad food in Bologna. It's there, especially in the unprepossessing bars near the station, but even among them there are places you can get a proper nice piadina. And restaurant-wise, standards are pretty spectacular honestly.

Can't understand a damn word they're saying though. Unless they're students, in which case it's mostly just love for Compagno Che.

Hi Monty, my brother in law is trying to source a ticket from somewhere. He has heard lots about strict ticket checks with matching tickets to passports. Do you know anything about those regulations?

So Italy is a very 'papers please' sort of place, I know that even when I went to a Serie B game at Venezia they checked ID against the name on the ticket. I'm absolutely certain there must be some sort of successful cadging and touting going on (this is literally Italy, after all), but I'm not totally sure how one goes about it.

European Quarter final, even if we think it’s comfortable I think the club are banking on people going to build a home history for the semis.

Home history for European games isn’t just important for the home semi it’s important for final tickets as well. If we get there I think the allocation is about 11k so most people with European away history even just one game will in all likelihood get a ticket it’ll then come down to European Home games imv, STHs then maybe even members.

A €20 note in lieu of the correct document often helps grease such transactions in my experience.

I'd risk it in Catania, but I wouldn't in Bologna.

Just trying to plan ahead. If we get through against Bologna, I’m guessing the Spurs game currently scheduled for Saturday 2 May would get moved to the Sunday?

The semi final first and second legs will take place on the Thursdays either side.

If we play Porto and Braga get through it's possible our semi-final away leg could be on the Wednesday, I think, as they can't play at home on the same day. Though it has always been Braga that have moved so far.

It's almost certainly going to be on TV so I reckon they'll go for the Sunday to save moving it again. Although that may be too logical.

If we get to the final, the Plop match should be moved to Friday night although we should be asking for previous Tuesday or Wednesday in case they get into the FA Cup final. Get the move done now.
