Add shorts and socks in the same blue as the trim and I reckon that'll look really good. On its own it's a bit plain.

I'd be surprised if it isn't legit though, matches the teaser from yesterday and the rumours. It's also exactly the sort of photo you get from someone who's been working on stocking shelves at the store/launch event and they've got a sneaky phone pic.

I did see an Adidas pre-announcement saying it would be black and light blue.  Haven't been able to find it again though.

Aston Villa and adidas are delighted to unveil the club’s new 2025/26 season away kit.

Predominantly black, the design on the raglan shoulders is inspired by the Bullring, one of the iconic landmarks on the skyline of Birmingham and where a brand-new Aston Villa store opens today.

Available in Authentic and Replica styles, both fans and players will wear the fabric of our city in this bold design.

Built for fast-paced football, the adidas authentic jersey has a slim fit and lightweight fabric, garnished with a ‘Villans’ sign-off on the back neck and a heat-applied club badge on the chest.

The new shirt will be worn for the first time in our final match of the 2024/25 season at Manchester United on Sunday, May 25.

Chris Heck, President of Business at Aston Villa, said: “Our 25/26 away kit launch is a continuation of our exciting partnership with adidas. We wanted this to be a representation of our iconic home city, where a lot of our fans away-day journeys start and end. This partnership keeps going from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing this fantastic kit on the pitch this weekend.”

adidas, said: “With Aston Villa’s away kit, we wanted to create something that goes beyond performance – a jersey that captures the bold, modern spirit of Birmingham. The Bullring’s architecture served as the perfect inspiration to tell the story of innovation and pride that run through the city and its football club. It’s a design that speaks to the future while staying true to Aston Villa’s identity and we can’t wait to see the players and fans wear it with pride next season .”

The range is on sale now across our Bullring, Villa Park and online stores as well as via JD and adidas. Some items, including Authentic shirts and Women’s styles will be available at a later date.

That looks a lot better.

Still very simple but clean.

It's pretty horrible. Grey is rubbish. Like the dragon one better.

That’s really nice.

One thought though, will we see the third kit used more as it’s not quite so distinct from claret as white?

Need to see it in person, but not sold on it personally. Still looks like hacked together training top, to get something out for the shop opening to me. I think they should have made all the transfers match the light blue colour on the stripes.

Guessing that means the third kit with the trefoil logo is destined to be white with claret trim. That thing is gonna fly off the shelves! 🙏🏻

Genuinely baffled that so many people like a horrible grey kit. Do you go outside and celebrate when the weather is shit?

So that's the training top, when does the away kit get released?
