Percy, what a lovely story! Good luck to you and your
Family

Cheers Skerra, same to you.

Thinking about it now, The Villa is and has been such a huge part of my life. I could easily have been one of Peter Morris’s little kids running about looking for Brian Little, as the ground was our adventure playground around that time on weekdays and in summer holidays, and we did manage to get into some corridors on our adventures. Things only intensified in my teenage years, when I made hundreds of friends there and got into many scrapes going home and away. I then worked there for over twenty years, and as I say, met my future wife there while selling the fanzine on Trinity Road. Two of my books are heavily Villa-centric. Like The Beat, I just can’t stop it.

Which books have you written Percy?

Here’s one mate, dm me if you’re interested:

https://www.indiependent.co.uk/book-review-gangsters-geezers-mods-stephen-pennell/

The others are King City and Star-spangled Villans.

If anyone else is interested dm me so Bezos doesn’t get to keep most of the money.

I bought / read Gangsters, Geezers and Mods a few years back when it came out. Loved it!!!

Do we think that there is still a substantial amount of people who haven't renewed yet with all the reminders that keep getting sent out?

It's probably standard procedure in case people have forgotten. It happens every year.

Had a reply today from an email I sent last week….

We can confirm that you are on the waiting list.

Your position is now 2393, your previous position was 14586 and you have a total of 136 points.
…..

I’ve just messaged a customer to see how many points he has as he told me last week he was 383rd on the waiting list.

An old acquaintance has text me saying ‘season tickets for sale if you’re interested’. He can’t sell me his can he?

Edit: just phoned him. It’s a case of keeping the ticket ‘live’ for somebody doing their final year in prison. The bloke who’s had it the last three years can’t afford it this year.

I believe it would have to remain in your friends name, essentially you’d be posing as them.

Sad to say, I've finally given my ST up. I may well regret it, but I'll continue to value the opinions here as well as getting tickets as a AV member when I can.
End of an era for me.
