No Irish player has scored more goals at the World Cup and only Lineker and Kane have done so for a UK nation.

A sad loss of a great player and a very nice man. I'm far too young to have seen Peter play but among the things I remember reading about him after to him I was introduced when I was a kid is that he scored with his first touch in international football.

Meet him once (matchday) outside the North Stand (with Andy Turnstile) a few years ago ,  he was getting on a bit then , I presume he was still driving as he asked us was snow forecast later on ! A player my Dad loved .I just re-watched the Video on the Villa website , a very humble man who loved the Villa. HEITS.

Sad news. I too was hoping he would see us win the fa cup again but it’s not to be. He played and scored in my first ever Villa game in 1960, sadly I don’t remember much about it. Not so many years ago he was entertaining us in the Holte suite, a real Villa legend.
