Ultimately Disappointing but not Disastrous.

Can't complain about that result in all honesty we were 2nd best in 2nd half.

This one really hurt. How many times have we failed to to hold a lead or a draw to a late goal. This one has annoyed me so much. That lost point could be the one that keeps us out of Champs League. Need to forget tonight a try build a new winning run until the end of the season and see where we end up. UTV.

Guardiola pushed both his full backs high very much like PSG did and exposed our full back cover. We should of course have exploited the spaces left behind them but Rogers was poor and Ramsey mysteriously subbed too early.

Two 93rd minute goals to define our season - one ultimately knocks us out of the CL, one stops us getting back into it.
We have to be better/stronger in those moments.  Disasi is a decent back up centre half, but an horrendous right back.

Yep I really find it odd when managers have blind spots, especially someone as brilliant as Unai. Against PSG the Disasi sub was basically a no choice, but to actively choose to put him at right back was a real mistake. He really can’t do it at this level.

It’s like Unai’s blind spot with back-up goalkeepers…

Disappointed I thought we deserved something from the game.

You can throw Bournemouth and Forest in there too. 3 points dropped in total there plus we gave 2 extra for Forest and they went on their run after that.  Very, very late goals have absolutely killed us this season.

Defensively we did well especially in the 2nd half when we were under a lot of pressure- again we switched off in added time to concede.

Let’s hope for a better performance on Saturday

I really thought we would have a go at them last night. It worked at home for the past two seasons and given you could only hear our fans, we should have pretended it was Villa Park.

Rogers was really poor and playing him was not only detrimental to last night's performance but he is not rested ahead of Saturday now, when we really need him to be at it. Not sure what is up with Emi, the first goal was a poor mistake and for the second, he either needs to come forward and claim it or stay on his feet and shuffle across to cover the near post. In the end, he just flopped over to his side. Bizzare.

It's hard to see a realistic route to top 5 from here after the results since Sunday. We'd better win the Cup.

For all 4 games that 90+ goals have hurt us v Bournemouth, Forest, PSG and now Man City, the danger has all come down our right, but with a variety of players like Barkley, Cash and Disasi sharing the blame.

Not sure how many late goals we let in last season that cost us, and where the source of the danger was.

That was a poor second half but we are more than capable of winning our remaining games to give us a chance of top five.

Only Southampton have conceded more goals after 90 minutes in the PL we have now conceded 8 in stoppage time and it will cost us.

Its not great, but we win’t actually know if it will cost us until after the man utd game. Last night was really disappointing but has ultimately decided nothing.

So disappointing.

But will cut them some slack. That was our eighth match in 24 days!! Eight games in 24 days!! Most of which Villa have been brilliant.

Mentally and physically draining and unchartered territory for us. But another bridge we will have to cross if we want to join the super elite.

We have made rotation necessary but it does have its disadvantages.

Onwards and upwards.
