As we're all having a nice time and I'm sure everyone wants to keep this discussion going, I'd also add that, even if it was in our power to allow him to play, we'd be fucking mental to do so. It's an FA Cup Quarter-Final, not a pre-season friendly.

Quite - it's not about what out 4th choice right back might do to us, it's what he might do for them. He's a pivotal part of their team, so why wouldn't we take him out if we had the right to?

Preston fans seem to be under the impression that this game is more important to them than it is to us. It's the quarter final of the only cup most of us have never seen us win. Beyond that even - we've actually won nothing for nearly thirty years,  & to top it off it's a route into Europe - How important do games get?

Has the 'journalist' who wrote the piece put their name to it? He/she may have a twitter account where you can pull them up on it.

Someone called Will Unwin. But I'd hope people have better things to do with their time.

Seems like Osmajic may be able to play against us.

Seems to be on track to get back from hip injury and FA have granted extra time in his response to charge.

Could we have added another player if we loaned Bailey out?

The other 3 ties have semi automated offside, but not ours.

This will not be easy, we have to go full-strength and sub as necessary.  No Bailey for this one, please.

Didn’t Bailey set up our first goal in our last game really nicely?

Yep gorgeous little chipped through ball for Ascensio’s first goal. He really hasn’t done that badly in the last number of games, but the dye is cast a bit. I think he may well be nailed on to start tomorrow.

In their match preparation, it must be impossible for PNE to predict the Villa starting X1. Even us Villa fans don't have a clue.

Be frantic in the PNE changing room 90 minutes before kick off when our team announced.

Such quality in depth.

0-2 to the Villa.

Whichever version of Bailey turns up , what he does seem to do is pull the opposition defence apart and occupy the mind of a couple of players. I'm not sure I'd start him but I think Emery will play him to start the game but doubt he will play the full game .

Very true. The thought of Madueke being in Bailey's role is exciting. Pressure really on Bailey to perform now.

These players were all on international duty and with must win against Brighton how many do we expect to start?

GK: Martinez and Olsen
Defenders: Konsa, Digne, Cash, Garcia, Maatsen
Midfielders: McGinn, Tielemans, Bogarde
Forwards: Malen, Rashford, Bailey, Rogers

The amazon docuseries coming up will give insight to Bailey off field life. His partner is going to feature and if it’s remotely disruptive will only add to likelihood of being sold.
