I'll confess I was very surprised he blew up on exactly 90 minutes. They did the same thing when we were 4-0 up against Ajax last season. I guess there's some form of UEFA rule that they don't need to bother with stoppage time in a second leg if one team is winning by a certain margin. Would they do the same thing if Real Madrid were 4-0 down at home against 10 men and there was supposed to be 8 minutes of added on time?

Quote from: London Villan on March 13, 2025, 09:09:50 AMI don't think we were flat - we just controlled the game. There was no need to go all headless chicken like Liverpool did. There was clearly a plan to go for it at the start of the second half - Emery was barking at everyone straight after kickoff to do things quickly - we then blew them away in 15 mins and took our foot off the gas. Interesting was the reaction of Real getting to the quarters, compared to ours... we looked like we just expected it and Real looked like it was a massive deal.Real had just beaten their rivals though. I'm sure our players reactions would be similar when we knock Blues out in R16 of the Champions League in 5 years time...............

PSG in the quarter-finals of the Champions League! First ever match against them. Good times?

Good times?I think if we got past them and played Real, it would be our 8th new opponent this Season, equalling our most ever in a season.Getting this from AVFC History on Blue Sky.
The 4th official had a chat with both benches and the managers shook hands just before 90 minutes. Something similar happened vs Chelsea in the FA Cup last year too.
