The VAR thing is annoying but let’s not let it distract from the fact that it’s another game where we’ve shot ourselves in the foot. It is ridiculous how inept we are and switch off defensively- I keep saying there is no point trying to play in a controlled way if you get such fundamentals wrong all the time.

This. However they measure it, they decided he was offside. Move on.

More importantly, the manager needs to correct some of his manifold selection errors and the players need to buck the fuck up.

It's not a clear and obvious error is it? In cricket they have umpires call where it's borderline and they stay with original decision. Any player will play on the shoulder because that's what you've learnt all your life but basically if you're half a step out of synch with the defender it's offside. It's total fucking bollocks. Basically teams have to relearn how to score.

Fuck VAR.

We are playing well and the better team. Not over yet.

In training, beginning to think our defence practices 'playing the ball out' more than it does defending.

Was that a corner they scored from? Looked like a goal-kick to me.

Sorry if this has been discussed.

That too. These refs are so shit.

I'd say his knee probably was just offside looking at those pictures. What can you do? The new semi-automatic system would have given it as off as well, most likely. The debate on the framerate of when the ball is kicked can continue.

Thats never offside

If thats offside so is palaces

Yet another game where we look in control before we turn the gun onto our own feet and blast them to smithereens.

Indeed. We would be much better served to use our best combination and just attack and back ourselves to score more. How many games is it in a row we’ve gone behind?!

There’s about 8 refs for a game of football now and everyone of them is utter crap. There used to be one and two linesmen.

It feels bonkers to me that a player can be offside because where he is in his stride pattern means his knee is high when the player he’s level with is in a different part of his own stride pattern and has a straight leg.

Bonkers. Anything to cancel out a goal….

If it wasn't for the "annoying" VAR, we'd be going into the break level, and on the front foot going into the second half.

It was offside. Marginal but offside.

We need to be better.

I’d get Rashford on for Rogers who the disallowed goal apart has done nothing positive but plenty of negative. Gives the ball away far too often and lands us right in trouble.

We don’t deserve to be trailing here.
