There was one in the 70’s that went,

I - Oh! I - Oh!
We are the Villa Boys.
I - Oh! I - Oh!!
(Can’t remember)
And if you are a City Fan surrender or you’ll die.
We will follow The Villa!

Always a classic. I learned it at school.
( but not very well)

Lines 2 and 4 were "It's up the Holte, we go".

I'm also old to remember when the last line was:
"And we will the Champions of League Division 3".

What about...

We love The Villa but...
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!

I know we're Villa, but...
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!

We're Villa till we die but...
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!
We always sing about Birmingham City!

I know some people are fond of it, but I think it's absolutely shite and I'm very glad the full verses have long ago been left in the 70s where they belong.

Tbh I don't even like the chorus that has become our signature song, but I am at least thankful it is sung for different reasons nowadays.

Apologies if you penned the original Villa version Percy, but it's where I stand.

I didn’t. I do like it though.

Wasn’t it Keith Bryenton who wrote that, along with A Holte End Lament?

I don't get down much these days, but has that died off? Sad if true. Feels like it was still knocking around pretty recently.

One of my favourites anyway.

Could be. I’ve got the bloke who says he’s the writer on Facebook but I can’t remember his name.

It would be brilliantly funny if we could get a proper version of that going.

Don't really need to change the words.

He's the greatest, he's fantastic
Wherever there is danger he'll be there
He's the ace, he's amazing
He's the strongest he's the quickest he's the best
John McGinnnn
John McGinnnn
JOHN MCGINNNN

(Boom)

He's the greatest, he's fantastic
Wherever there is danger he'll be there
John McGinn (Amazing!)
John McGinn (Astounding!)
JOHN MCGINNNN

Sorry lads, you could come up with the greatest song in football history but the terrace chant will still be "We've got McGinn...".

yeah, you're right.  It's probably our best song and the last player we need a new one for.  But it would be funny and appropriate for his character.
