The way our front players were all buzzing around after the subs it's going to be hard for opponents to work out what we're doing!

And some of that play had me giggling last night. The commitment and drive in the team was a joy. The ball being moved around at pace, chances, tackles.. everything you'd want (apart from more goals).

We looked very good at times last night - a joy to watch. Get them down to Bodymoor and practice getting the ball higher than 2' off the ground and over the keeper and we win a lot more matches

Really enjoyed that game, should have been out of sight but this is the Villa.

As others have said that was McGinn v Fulham vibes, where he just bullied their midfield, and ran the show.

It’s going to be fun watching Asensio for the next few months.

For the first time in a while I was in the Holte Upper, is it always that cold and windy ? It was like someone had left all the windows open.

What got me was the crowd for that little move where Asencio and Rogers combined  with the back heel, the through flick, return and shot - just totally tuned in to every pass and loving everything we were doing. Brilliant moment. Villa Park at its best.

Also how bad were Tottenham, the way they played was bonkers.

If that was a kids team you’d say they were a bit naive, there’s was one point when their centre half was bombing on down the right wing, why the other one was pushed up, there were 2 strikers pressing the same Villa man,  they were a shambles.

They all pressed from the first whistle but didn’t leave any midfielders back, so once you played through them, you were onto their back 4.

I think they had some injuries......

BUT it is Ange's decision to play Archie Gray as a CB on the left side for the majority of their bad run. He had options to have Danso and Davies last night but decided not to.

It was the same shit when we beat them down in there last season, moaning about having to play two full backs at centre half and they had Eric Dier on the bench.

And playing a RB at LB, while Davies and Reguilon were on the bench.

Two very lightweight CMs were constantly outnumbered in the first half, we really should have done a right number on them with the space Rogers and Ramsey got. If we did Big Ange would have got his P45 last night.

It was great to finally beat them at Villa Park.

Watching us beat the press was interesting. Dinge has said they've been working on things in the week and it showed. We've been getting caught playing it out from the back- particularly on the left side - but despite the press there were more passing options last night, the midfielders came in closer to provide options and we moved it quicker. Good to see.

And then Pedro Porro - in the side to attack, so he stays ridiculously high up the pitch, giving Ramey half of Villa Park to play in, but also I don't remember a single attacking thing that he did either.

It takes quite some skill to set up a team in such a way that it manages to look short of players in defence, midfield AND attack all at the same time.

That Porro is a snidey little shit. Got done with a nice bit of skill and chased back just to foul. And he's a whiner too.

Yeah, he took on the Romero role of snidey twat well, even looking like a clumsy donkey with it.

Some great football was witnessed tonight and I can wait to watch them again. That little link up with Asensio and Rogers was sublime. The back heel was just in font of me and there was an audible gasp from the crowd. If only Rogers had put that in the back of the net we'd be talking about that goal for years to come. Ipswich up next. Bring our A game and we should bag the 3 points. We need to improve our GD which currently stands at -3 . It's a minor miracle that we're still in touching distance of top four.
