If they went the right way. I've seen worse hit ones scored. But with how good he has been at finding the corners of the goals recently, I just can't believe he was relying on sending the keeper the wrong way.

I do wonder if the game was in the balance whether he'd have taken it?

Don't see any reason why he wouldn't. Emery's said that the order is Rashford, Asensio then any one of Watkins, Tielemans and McGinn.

So they'd stick with that until told otherwise.

That one on one is going to haunt him for a while.

I wonder would he have scored it against any other team.

The keeper committed, Marco has the ability and coolness to make Donnarumma look a fool and I'm sure he's done it to him in training. What an opportunity it was.

It was almost his first involvement in the game which did not help, he was bought on for that opportunity,it was a significant miss and I really expected him to score.

Tbh, if he was absolutely nailing everything it would be a concern that someone like Citeh would be in for him.

He tried to put it through his legs, and was extremely close to doing so.   It happens, players miss 1v1 chances all the time. There are, however, a couple of misses that are going to haunt us for years to come, and his, along with Konsa's free header will probably be top of the list.

I do think though that if Ollie misses that chance, in exactly the same way, people would have hammered him for it.  Asensio has a lot of goodwill in the bank, so he get a pass it seems.

Looking at the replays he seemed to ever so slightly miscontrol the pass so his shot wasn't as accurate as it could have been.

You always think that a player as sublimely skilful as him should try to take it round the 'keeper.

Didn't he have one in the first leg which was well hit but took a deflection before just going past the post.

He did, that one was a difficult one, taken first time, and I think he was unlucky.
