Interesting one, seeing as we already have Bailey. Sounds like we really want Champions League football next season again.

Not to sound like a soulless money man but the financial rewards of CL qualification are 100% necessary to keep moving forward. No CL means we struggle to attract new players and to keep some of our best ones, which means taking 2 steps back and having to rebuild again. It would be amazing to keep going in this year's competition, but finishing top 5 would be my choice for a successful season.

Anyone who not familiar with Asensio he has an absolute wand of a left foot.
And I'm not kidding he strikes a ball as hard and as sweet as Duran.
Great player and ticks a lot of boxes including the champions league experience and native Spanish speaker.

Exciting to have him in the squad woahh Asensioooo!!

Did you eat another spring roll after?

I didn't have any thing else.
I do hope Asensioooo shows up like Palmer does for Chelsea.
Be interesting to see how much he be a first choice ahead of Bailey now in pecking order for me.

Honestly going to love him here
He’s got one of the best left footed strikes you have ever seen and now he’s here at Villa!
For those who haven’t seen him you’re going to be in disbelief way he shoots

Asensio's finishing and shooting skill stands in stark contrast to captain McGinn, who would have to be play further back in midfield, other from winning the ball high up the pitch, Ginny has a glaring lack of goal threat and his shooting is way off and prefer him when he's not the second support the striker!

For Scotland McGinn is quite the threat but he rarely seems to offer that to such a level for Villa especially this season.

We have two genuine set piece threats now. Asensio with his left foot and Rashford with his right ate both brilliant at free kicks. Throw in Rashford’s excellent penalty taking record we might actually score a few. We never seem to score direct from free kicks.

Exciting isn't it just?! These two can strike a ball supremely.
I was opening discussion on that with Archie McPhee and that there are more free kick , set piece opportunities.

If I may , Thank you TV for sharing the wonderful insight article on the transfer window thread.
I added the Asensio stuff here of course!

"Like Joao Felix, Asensio was a client of Jorge Mendes, the high-profile agent, who has worked with Monchi several times. Emery was again the overarching factor and he wanted Asensio, 29, should he become available. Villa agreed to cover Asensio’s full salary, signing him on loan until the end of the season"

Big welcome to Marco Asensio, another player that has it in him to be so much more, great control, can drift pass players, reads the game.

🚨🧨 Although there isn’t an option to extend Marco Asensio’s loan, there is an openness on behalf of PSG to do so.
