He was shite for their goal, Disasi. Not the only one. Maatsen predictably soft as shite defending the cross, Mings weak as ever on his right side but if you watch it back Disasi starts off in the correct position. He's goal side of Delap but he's just a lot slower and weaker to the cross. It's a brilliant goal from Delap but Disasi can't let him get a shot in there. Very similar to a goal that Leicester got at Villa Park recently, one forward beating three defenders.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that it was a brilliant goal at all.  It was a fucking gift from us defensively.

Good play from Delap, he shouldn't have been able to get to the ball with three defenders around him but he did, and steered into the only part of the goal he can score in. The stars aligned for him a bit.

That keeps happening to us though. Bit of clever movement from a striker and they get to the ball first too many times.

Spot on. I said the same about the Leicester goal on here at some point on Saturday night I think.

The cross should have been stopped in the first place by Maatsen, who was too square when facing the winger. Hopefully that can be improved with coaching.

Agree with both comments
They are down to 10 men, we let the cross in and three defenders can not prevent the finish.

The goal is 70% on Maatsen and 10% on the other 3 .
Maatsen is a major issue .

Maatsen can’t defend. I’m surprised at how poor he is, maybe exaggerated by how good Digne is all round.

And yet he was the best Left Back in the Champions League only last season. Emery must have done a shit job on him.

Although if you watch the second goal for Real in the final..... (TBF he had hands in some of the best Dortmund attacks as well).

I know brontebilly disagrees, but other than a couple of mistakes I thought he was really good tonight. Good on the ball, got his positioning mostly right and competed really well against very tough opposition - also worth noting we basically had no screen centrally in front of the defence, which makes it really tough. Well done.

Totally agree, looks a really good player, hope we can make it permanent.

Excellent performance, IMO. I love Mings, but Disasi bailed him out a few times tonight. I also liked the leadership he showed going over to Garcia after the first goal. Shame he's missing next two home games.

With the Axel of awesome I particularly enjoyed his football ability in getting down the line on left wing in first half on one occasion neatly playing some football.
French flair.
Disasi won a corner from that play and he showed some passion in  cajoling the crowd!
