14 starts in 12 months, not being very good in most of them, not scoring against anyone better than Brighton and a reported £140k a week is possibly why we're open to moving him on. And I actually like him and think he's very useful as a threat from the bench, but as a club we've shown before that we'll move players on if it suits the club, or they want to leave. And the vast majority of times we've been right.

We definitely need to replace him and if it's an upgraded signing then fair play for moving a player on at the right time and getting money back. If we go down the route of just relying on Watkins again then it's a terrible idea.

Tammy back? Not sure on him at all.

Not sure Emery was ever that keen on Malen. Has played his best football with us in recent months but Emery let Danny Ings go when he was scoring goals so won't think twice about moving on Malen for the right deal. We would all prefer to see poor/non performers like Guessand, Sancho and Elliot move on first but that's not how the industry works.

I will be sad to see him go.

Me too, feels like another deal dictated by balancing the books first and foremost.

Me too, I really like him. He was brilliant at the weekend.

He's decent but never really going to be a regular starter, probably best for his career if he goes to a club where he will get more game time.

makes sense for his career if he is to move on, he's always going to be in and out at Villa.

According to reports in Italy we're only asking €18m (£15.6m). We must be skint and desperate if true.

Thing is with Unai, when he’s convinced about a player, he’s convinced. Look how many are still there from when he started. And if he’s not, he doesn’t mind swapping them out.

Unai has rarely let any of our players leave and they've gone on to prove him wrong.

Roma want Malen if they can't get Raspadori (Gasparini, like Unai, bets a lot on being better than others at wringing the best out of talented but under-delivering attackers). I've seen nothing credible on any concrete figures for a permanent move.

Needs to be pointed out that Rome - if you can get a nice house and keep the car windows up - is a really, really nice place to live.

And me. I liked him at DVB and was really happy when we got him.

Like I say, Gasparini really believes he can change him.

Be a bit miffed if there's any truth to this.

Seems a popular player in the squad and has def contributed during his time with us.

We don't have a huge amount of pace in the final third and that's something we'll need to rectify if he does depart.
