And I actually like him and think he's very useful as a threat from the bench, but as a club we've shown before that we'll move players on if it suits the club, or they want to leave. We definitely need to replace him and if it's an upgraded signing then fair play for moving a player on at the right time and getting money back. If we go down the route of just relying on Watkins again then it's a terrible idea.

Not sure Emery was ever that keen on Malen. Has played his best football with us in recent months but Emery let Danny Ings go when he was scoring goals so won't think twice about moving on Malen for the right deal. We would all prefer to see poor/non performers like Guessand, Sancho and Elliot move on first but that's not how the industry works.

Thing is with Unai, when he’s convinced about a player, he’s convinced. Look how many are still there from when he started. And if he’s not, he doesn’t mind swapping them out.
