There are two strong Villa traits at play here:

- being the team every other team or player wants to play against when they're on a bad run
- always ruining Christmas

So both point to an early Christmas present for Citihad.

Sad and predictable. First game I'm missing this season, can't decide if it's a good or bad thing.

I think we will win possibly even comfortably. City have been playing dreadfully for weeks even when they were winning in that donkey derby last weekend. If we go at them with a high tempo like we did last season rather than the ultra slow methodical build up, we can expose their lack of legs all over the pitch. McGinn can be key for us, coming nicely into form of late and these are the kinds of games he loves.
Really need Tielemans moved out of midfield and pushed further up.

Not likely to ditch the slow and methodical though, are we?

I would be astonished if we won comfortably. I’d be delighted, but I suspect it’ll still be tough. We’ve hardly been scintillating in the league of late.

I fancy us to he well on top in the game only to give them an absolute gift, which will subsequently be seen as the turning point in their season.

Funny enough wr have only lost once in the league at home and that was our first home game vs arsenal.

We have drawn too many at home thats the issue.

I would probably take a point on Saturday  all things considered

Maybe not totally but we can be incredibly slow at times and that will allow City to settle. Emery does switch things up on occasion like at Leipzig where he completely outfoxed their coach with Cash's positioning. Seemed like we went direct to Watkins and Duran a lot that night too. With Rodri out City don't have a midfielder capable of screening in front of their back 4. The likes of McGinn and Rogers could have a field day breaking in from the sides.

Also with Mings back in I think we can play that high defensive line with a lot more confidence. With Carlos/Torres we know they don't have the pace to get back if they are turned. Konsa/Mings would be a lot better. Haaland barely broke sweat last weekend so we need to keep him squeezed up near the half way line and hopefully he loses interest.

This is certainly a game for an emotional hedge bet. We both score but they win is 5-2. I’ll have a little bite of that.

If we lose it won't be by much. We may sneak a draw,

1-1 or 1-2 is my guess.

I do think this narrative that City are broken and we’re favourites is odd. Obviously they’re in a bad place, but we’ve played 7 games against other teams in the top 10 and we’ve lost 5, drawn 1 and lost 1. I’d be surprised and delighted if we win, but the only way to do it is to get at them.

They're Evens and we're 23/10 despite being at home, so Citeh are still solid favourites.
