If we've won the Europa then it won't matter, but it'll go to the last game again for 5th.

It's why talk of today not being important was daft. Win and that would have been Brighton gone and only 2 defeats plus 2 Bournemouth wins would drop us. Now there's more variables.

Yeah, of course today was important. We're at risk now. We have three games left. Two are against Liverpool and Man City. If we fail to win in any of them it is absolutely feasible that we aren't in the Champions League next season.

I fancy us against Liverpool at Villa Park.

Correct, and more variables = a pain in the yarbles (Clockwork Orange reference).

I don't think we'll get another point this season. Can't see a strong team being picked on Friday and the Etihad is the Etihad.

Me too. I'm guessing we all fancy us against Freiburg, whilst we will in all likelihood lose at Man City. That means we're two fuck ups, which can both be draws (lose on pens) away from potentially completely blowing this. I think we'll do it still, but the margin for error is getting very, very slim.

I don't think he has a choice now. It's on the Friday at least.

I watched the Liverpool game yesterday and it's a bit like watching us in the past 3 league games. A point will be enough for both of us.

I’d take that point now.

What worries me is that Bournemouth win against City the night before our final. Can you imagine the pressure if they are just a point behind us.

Bournemouth with 10 days rest vs a post cup final Man City? Forest and United won’t do us any favours on the final day either. I think we will need to beat Liverpool or City and you wouldn’t bet on either of those with Istanbul in the middle.

I am sure Emery won't let that get into their heads.

It's clear we see this as a massive night. We were well up for it on Thursday.

It also shouldn't be underestimated how important the psychology could be for the final. Could go into it free of any CL stress because top 5 is wrapped, or there's the massive amount of added pressure as everyone knows just how important CL football is to us next season.

Just give Brighton and Bournmouth the points so, no need to play the games!
