But that’s the plan, alienate season ticket holders so they give up and then sell the seats on a match by match basis at top price.

Does anyone else think that this is the general plan?
I genuinely don't know what the intention is. Not just in relation to this match.
I would have thought that they would want to maximise the revenue from STHs and also retain a bedrock of income from them.
VP does not allow them to sell lots of premium seats because of its limitations and a new stadium would mean that they would want to carry over as much of the existing revenues as possible but under a different pricing model obviously.
So i am not sure that pissing of thousands of STHs is good business practice under the circumstances.

I agree with you that I think their aim must be to maintain a bedrock of STHs and then maximise revenue from remaining tickets.

I assume STHs pay for their ticket up front, which is a massive boost to the club’s cash flow. Am I right on this? Charging us members through the nose for certain match day tickets allows the club to maximise revenue over the STH average of £40 per match. I think I’ve paid £70 for Forest in a few weeks which feels mad.

I’d be surprised if any vacated STs get re sold in the summer, they’ll instead fall into the GA+ abyss.

ST holders who miss half the games and resell back to the club are valuable
Paid up front £45
Club then take 20% = £10
And resell at upto £70
So the seat then is £125 for the club all in

For many many years we had between about 17-22,000 ST holders. There is definitely no advantage to having any more than that.
They aren’t going to be digging into that waiting list for a while yet, unless they can significantly piss off a lot more people…oh.

And yet isn’t there a cap on how many times STs can be sold back to the club each season? 5 isn’t it?

They are using the proviso that they had stated that attendance at those FA Cup games might impact on ticket distribution for future FA Cup games.

This is the point I was making earlier on. The terms and conditions are opaquely worded and there is wriggle room there to fulfil them.

I think now they’ve set the precedent they will stick with this. It makes future home cup games significantly more attractive and memberships more rewarding.

There must be a lot of members who have attended all home games in all competitions.

I haven’t read all of the thread so maybe this point has been made, or maybe I’m missing the point, but in the 2020 league cup  final, attendance at the other ties in that cup run were definitely taken into account, so not a new thing.

No cap . It works for the club brilliant.

Yes STs are paid up front, the pay as you go schemes are through a 3rd party, the club still get the money up front

For the Preston game , they should prioritise all fans who were at the 0-2 RDM shit show when despite epic shitness we took 6000 up there to watch Ashley Westwood point as Calum Robinson walked through us to score . Plus it pissed down .

Nobody is saying they shouldn't be taken into account. It's taking them into account before season tickets that is a load of bollocks.

Did RDM get the matches though ? I always thought had a panic on to get back up and he was not given long enough time in charge instead we moved on to Stevie Bruce with expectations go up.

For those that are interested, I reckon there are about 2,000 tickets still left but that was about 20 mins ago. It was a bit rough and ready doing the maths and those numbers will go down, but I think most people in today's tranche will probably have already bought their tickets.  For reference, Blocks Q and L have a lot of availability. Block N has hardly any and Block P has the next fewest.

Posted this elsewhere but for those interested, looks like they have held back seats in the first 3 blocks also
