I'm sure it was at Preston in the third division that two Villa supporters got on the roof of their stand at half time and got stuck and had to be rescued along with their Villa flag. Anybody else remember it?

Big Andy Marshall and his mullet up top , andy Ritchie just off him , Denis "the accountant" Irwin at RB . Worst game McGrath ever played for us , that pitch just didn't suit his knees , was a shocking gen1 Astro turf with a bounce like concrete .

Why was Denny an accountant ?

On the subject of SHA, I've had a few nose mates over the years and they've mostly been fine. Still friends with one (for almost 25 years) and he's a good lad. One thing I'll say for them is they wear their hearts on their sleeves.

WBA are a bit sneakier. Most of them either weren't 'into football' for years, or at least 'didn't mind' Villa. Then for about five years 2011-16 you couldn't shut them up. That coincided with the most amount of time I had to spend with my then-girlfriend's WBA-supporting family.

I could mention Wolves but, meh, who cares?

If we don’t beat PNE then the players will need there arses kicking all the way back down the M6, there can be no excuses for not getting to Wenbley for a semi-final.
As a season ticket holder who has attended all 3 FA cup games this season there must be a small chance that I finally get an away ticket for this game?

Let's not get carried away.  We had this when we drew Bradford and got our fingers burnt.  Given our poor away form as well, perhaps tone down the arrogance

Probably the best draw for both teams - of all the teams left in it, I’d fancy us to be Preston even away. And if I were a Preston fan, I’d think Villa at home would be their best chance of progressing too!

We can win this if we put our minds to it.

It’s the glamour tie as it’s the closest quarter final game to where Manchester Utd play.
Perhaps they can have the pundits at TTOD.

Seems like not just KKH that won't be able to play against us, but also Ledson (who specialises in kicking people) and possibly Osmajic; their bitey player.

Otherwise known as a 'Suarez'.

Nobody should be dismissing them, but if we don’t win it’s a big fuck up. That’s not disrespecting them, but even away a team with our resources should be beating them 9 times out of 10.

Going back to the fixture date, I can't see any of the games being played on the Sunday as 5 of the teams through all play on the following Tuesday. I reckon there will be one game Friday night and the other three spread over Saturday.

Wouldn't it be funny if Blues won the tallest dwarf trophy and we won either or both of the two open to all cups that we are still in?

Will be going to Wembley with La Bluenose, assuming that by the time the tickets come round to general sale they haven't already sold their 50,000 allocation...

It would be a absolutely  hilarious

We can laugh at our rivals without being obsessed

Also a bit of difference between the team under Paul Lambert who was going for the heady goal of "not being relegated" and this one. We also don't seem to be playing the bomb squad this year like we have we several years recently including the loss to Stevenage. It seems Emery has targeted this as a trophy to win this year where previous years the aim had been the league positions.
