Just need to squeak past Cardiff and Bruges, not lose at Brentford and then hopefully with the long break after March 12th we can get players back for the run in.

I am hoping they take the frustration of last night out on the Bluebirds. But i would not bet on it

I reckon he will play Olsen whether or not Martinez is fit.  He won't want to lose him for the Bruges game.

Depends how 'Small' the injury is, I suppose.

This is shaping up just like 1992 with all the top teams going out early and we had a great chance to win it.  Only to lose to the only decent team left (Liverpool) in the QF who then went on to lift the trophy beating two teams from the 2nd tier.

I was with you until the Brentford part.

WDWW would be fine in our next four fixtures.

Earlier in the week we were 4th favourites for the Cup but are now second favourites (with PP) at 13/2. I'll be more confident if Plymouth and Brighton win.

Liverpool weren't any great shakes then, if I recall. Villa just the usual not turn up for the big occasion. We wore that ghastly Brazil kit as well.

Thought we played well in that game and would have won if not for Groebelaar or if Steve Froggatt had come on earlier.

I think they scored when Staunton was off injured and Atkinson missed about half a dozen sitters. I may be conflating multiple Anfield disasters, though.

Probably the most painful defeat in my time supporting the Villa. Have hated the yellow kits ever since (although it was shit to begin with).

You’re right cd. The main issue was Kubici trying to play offside and as you say Atkinson missing a hatful. It was a pretty even game tbf as we had Liverpools number around that time.
