Diego Carlos to Fenerbahçe, here we go! Deal in place with Aston Villa as Brazilian defender will fly to Istanbul tonight.

Transfer fee expected to be in excess of €10m with Aston Villa keen on Loïc Badé as replacement.

I would love to have Doug back, but there is absolutely zero chance it’ll happen.

I guess the fee for Carlos means we are broadly neutral from a FFP perspective.

Carlos leaving means there's definitely a replacement on the way in.

Seems a bit silly to be letting players go before the end of the Champions League Group Stage.

I suspect we would be playing this differently if we didn't have to think about FFP. But yeah, I get what you mean, and is the bloke from Seville we're replacing him with even going to be eligible for the CL?

Carlos was suspended for the Monaco game anyway.

Once the group stage is over, yeah. I think.

Yes, but not until after the Group Stage. Which occurs before the end of the transfer window so no reason why we couldn't wait until then.
