We are definitely missing Diaby's insane pace

Pace is the main asset we are short of this season. Diaby may not have finalised the end product but he caused the opposition to be well aware of him and to keep more defensive.

Just wtaching the palace game. We really missed a trick not getting sarr. For 12m thats a steal.he is quick and exactly the type of player we need

You have watched him play well in ONE game, where he has his only goal and assist this season*, and are stating we should have bought him. Glad you aren't on the recruitment team.

*He only scored 3 last season... in France.

The 18 year old that played for Sunderland last night looks like the real deal.

Is that Rigg, Bellingham or someone else?

Must be Rigg. He's being compared to Roy Keane and has been captaining England at U16/17/18 level.

"He’s got a wonderful left foot. He looks like someone who is going to play with that silkiness, with the passing on his left foot, and he looks to have that tiger in him as well. He wants to tackle everyone. It’s not a bad mix for a midfielder."

I take you forgot the games vs watford were he battered us?

Remind me how many goals has bailey and philiogene got in the league this season?

Its what he adds to the team. He is quick  can cause defenders issues and for 12.5m under a quality manager like unai his game couls go to the next level.

McGinn to Rigg transition?  I’d like to see us do deals where we sign him but he stays at Sunderland for another year, maybe two. Probably a good way of doing the deal, at a reasonable price, and also means the player can continue to develop in an environment they’re happy in.

I didn’t think I’d be saying this , but I’d take Jack Grealish ( the Villa version !) back in January , maybe on loan .
At the moment the left hand side of the team has nothing and there no one prepared to take a man on and try something different

So again you're going by just the games he has played against us? Pretty much proving my point.

Yeah, I haven't mentioned Bailey or Philogene, nice work.

If we could get Viktor Gyökeres or Liam Delap, I would sell Watkins. Having said that, if we can address the underwhelming right side maybe Watkins rediscovers his mojo.

There's no chance we can get Gyokeres. He'll have the pick of a few teams currently higher up the chain than us.

We've missed the boat in selling Watkins. Should've cashed in when he was on a roll, last summer or this. Now he's returned to his natural level we'd get fuck all for him.

I wouldn't underestimate the ego of another manager believing he can get the best from him

I wouldn't underestimate the football nous of top coaches who can see an overrated striker who can rarely finish his dinner, and can't hack it if the nasty men buy another forward when they see one.

I really hope we've got some big plans for January, I'm just not sure that Monchi is the man I'd trust to carry them out.
