I don't think I've ever felt as excited about a game at Villa Park as this before. Eventually, this will all just be routine, but for today/tonight I want and will be swept up with the emotion. You have to treasure these moments. It feels so special.

What do the Bayern boardies think of us, for those who skulk on rival forums (BV, Dave?)?

I think you meant research rather than skulk. Anyway not much game chat yet, just that it should be a fun trip to Birmingham and "es ist voller Möpse, Muschi und der Villa", which I'm waiting on Proprosition Joe to translate.

Ha! Just catching up with this thread. I don't think it needs translating :) , but does it (the original) actually still get sung these days? I haven't been for years.

As for the game today I will have to admit cowardice and hope we put in a respectable performance and don't get thrashed. Luckily tomorrow is a public holiday so I won't have to walk past all the gloating newspaper stands if the worse happens.

From the official Bayern Twitter

"✨ Tommy and his gang have arrived in 𝑩𝒊𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒉𝒂𝒎 . ✨"

They deserve firing into the sun for that.

For all the off field criticism they face - this is a real nice touch.

On the pitch we can match anyone - i just hope the overall occasion does not beat us.

Come on lads - do this for Gary (will someone close that window)

Just think how many of our local haters will be tuning in to hopefully see us fail.

Everywhere from Leicester to Wolfs to Cov to the bitter birds to the local dog shitters all praying we lose.

Just remember they would part with vital organs just to have one night like this in their pathetic lives - and we have a total of 8 of them.

Lets really raise the roof like never before to show these jealous twats what a real support looks and sounds like.

Yeah, I had a dream about Olympiacos last night, woke up for a piss, only to have another dream.aboit not bothering to go and checking the score and we'd lost 0-2. Was glad when my alarm went off. FTF

Already started where I work in Wolverhampton, all the tescos and dingles that populate the shop floor met me with a "come on Munich tonight"

We play better against the better teams and particularly those that come for a game so simple message….bring it on!

You look down their squad list on the back of the programme and we are going to see some serious players but we aren’t too shabby either…bring it on!

Can’t see any scenario where Konsa doesn’t play right back to try and combat the threat of Davies down the left but we need Bailey on it to give him some problems in his defensive role also…bring it on!

Christ, get a fucking grip.

We've got a 100% record against these absolute chumps.

A journalist tried to make the 100% record joke to Emery in the press conference and quickly wished he hadn’t. Unai didn’t appear to get it and looked like somebody had shat in his shoes.

That was a slightly awkward watch, wasn't it.

100% buddy. Good to see you back

I'm just seeing tonight as a bit of a 'free hit' really with the opportunity to see one of the biggest clubs in the world play at Villa Park.

I would like to see us progress from the league stage of the competition, but I think results in the other games will determine that.  Tonight is a one off shot at one of the big boys in our own backyard.

Yep, this is one of half a dozen teams in the competition with realistic ambitions to win the whole thing. A genuinely elite European side. At Villa Park (*shivers*).

A win would be incredible, but I'd take a draw and a positive performance all day long. I want to look like we belong at this level. I want other fans to realise we DO belong at this level.

Couldn't afford a ticket (thanks Mr Heck!), so I'll be at home listening to WM radio with a smelly autumnal candle on the go listening to Thommo's dulcet tones. I'll be lighting an extra little one for Gary Shaw before kick off.

Have a brilliant evening to those who are going. Should be an unforgettable night for the club: looks like it won't be raining (!).

Going for a Desmond. Ollie to score again.

UTV!
