The second best thing about Durans goal was Emi Martinez’s face/ reaction.
Considering he trains/plays with Messi regularly that face was telling

Yeah fair play to everton today they showed a lot of heart. Very unlucky not to get anything today.

I agree on rogers he is excellent but holds onto the ball too long. Needs to pass the ball at times

To lose back to back games from being 2-0 up is crushing.
Absolutely

Completely demoralising

Dont see how they pick themselves up from this. Thats woeful to have that two games on trot

Only the second time in the Premier League that a side has lost consecutive games having being at least 2-0 up in both.

2-2 draw against Arsenal over Christmas one year. We’d battered them but gone 2-0 down. ‘‘Twas ever thus.

Was that Bad Santa night?

No, we won that. This was under MON and Zat Knight scored the injury time equaliser. It was wild in the Holte when that went in. We should have buried them, I have memories of us hitting the post a few times. If we had won we would have gone something like 8 points clear of them and probably one foot in the top 4.

We didn't and we bottled it. The infamous Stoke job I think.

Going the shop tomorrow to get a Villa shirt for my son , he wants a Martinez one but Im going to try talk him into a Duran one after that goal and I did take him a Duran concert in Leicester , if not I might get it myself .

Sent to the shop with my lad after the game, he went Martinez away (the green one) and it looks smart. With name, number and Champions League patch, £83!

Anyway, the guy behind us, and his lad were in the printing queue behind us and his lad had picked Ramsey and in the queue changed his mind to Duran. We agreed it made sense.

When we'd done the players were coming out so we wandered over, saw the same guy and his lad and, lo and behold, Duran came over and signed his shirt. Nice.

We are going to come unstuck unless we start tightening up at the back. Two league clean sheets since the end of Jan and we’ve conceded two goals or more in 9 of our last 11 home league games, which is pretty poor.

Kamara will make a difference but the issues are partly masked by how free scoring we have generally been up to now.

Wanted to apologise for my rather negative post on the match thread. I gave up listening after the second Everton goal went in. Have been a mardy sod on here for a while.

The Arsenal game was Boxing Day 2008.

Classic match - Villa Park was so noisy that night.

Considering it was a match thread and we were losing, I doubt anyone even noticed.

Try the magic words "Bonjour ! Une pression. Une pinte s'il vous plaît !"And you will get 50 cl of beer, which is what they think a pint is.
